Who is SCP?
SCP is headed by Anton Auerbach, a veteran of retail, who, for the past 20 years has worked for L Brands (formerly Limited Brands) with all divisions under the corporate umbrella. Anton, along with a small internal team with decades of combined experience, provided retail innovation strategy for founder Les Wexner, the brand CEOs and senior executives, on both merchant and design sides of the business. Since the late 1990s, through extensive global patterning trips, he developed collaborative partnerships with leaders throughout all facets of the brands’ business, becoming a trusted retail expert and advisor to many of the strongest industry leaders. Through these important relationships, the team was able to bring what’s now, what’s new and what’s next to the attention of senior leadership. This information covered a broad range of retail categories, with Anton connecting the strategic dots from a wide variety of data points, editing to key macro global trends, and uncovering important white space opportunities, always distorting to the big ideas.
Throughout this extensive global patterning, Anton nurtured long standing relationships with the team’s numerous independent consultants worldwide, curious locals in the know, tuned into their local markets, referred to as “scouts”. This group of scouts made it possible for the small internal team to execute broad patterning reports and global scans to inform Les and brand leaders, as well as, to guide executive teams on retail patterning trips around the world. Through this focused work, the team, with Anton synthesizing the various data points of scout information, was able to help brand leaders navigate many retail changes, assisting them in implementing these changes and supporting the brands in their evolution.
